Project Background
AEC undertook a detailed feasibility study at this college to identify underused areas within the main building, supporting the delivery of both Science and Engineering T Level pathways. Teaching spaces across the ground, first, and second floors were remodelled and fully refurbished to create modern, curriculum-ready learning environments.
The Engineering and Manufacturing practical facilities were established on the ground floor, including dedicated Welding, Carpentry, and General Workshop spaces. On the upper levels, theory-based IT classrooms and a shared Printing Room were created, alongside specialist Health and Science facilities. These included practical Consultation and Biology Laboratories, supported by IT spaces for theory delivery. A shared study area was also introduced on the first floor to support students across both T Level routes.
Sustainable design options were incorporated wherever possible to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency. Works included upgrades to ventilation and air conditioning, LED lighting, enhanced power and data provision, ceiling replacements, fitted furniture, and full internal redecoration throughout.
T Level Classroom Transformation
A full transformation of the classrooms into modern T Level learning spaces, designed to support practical teaching and collaborative work.
